The Disappearance of 16-year-old Shemika Cosey from Berkeley, Missouri

When it comes to the disappearance of Shemika Cosey, I always wonder who she may havemet the night she disappeared. Her mother Paula believes that her daughter got mixed up into a sex trafficking situation and I have to agree that is a real possibility. While police have the case listed as a runaway, Paula says that’s just not possible because there were never any indications that Shemika wanted to leave home and she had never threatened to run away in the past. While Shemika wasn’t technically able to date Paula says she secretly dated a guy by the name of “Jeremy” and saw him mostly while Shemika was babysitting her little sister during Paula’s work hours.

As for Shemika’s aspirations in life I was told that she was into designing clothes and she loved doing hair and make-up. It seems to me that perhaps some of her friends or associates at the time might have some small bits and pieces of information might be helpful in the search for Shemika. But according to the family and police getting information and tips has been challenging, but why? Are people afraid of who Shemika was with? It’s also possible that she kept the information to herself about who she was seeing especially if it was an older guy who was driving a black 300 like Paula suspected? I can only hope that someone will help give the Cosey family some closure, because I could never imagine the nightmare of living every single day not knowing where my loved ones are.
