In the first episode of "Intrigued Full Effect" I spoke to Theda Person about the disappearance of her son Christian Ferguson. She shared her emotional journey on what's happened over the past 15 years since her son disappeared she also talked about her goal to keep his name alive. I found the podcast to be somewhat challenging because there are so many elements and layers to the story. While I was able to get Theda's thoughts on Christian's disappearance I wasn't able to hear from his father who called 9-1-1 and told police that his SUV was stolen and that Christian was inside. There are clear indications that a custody battle was in full swing when Christian disappeared and that just added to the issues that family members were dealing with. I wanted to do Christian's story in my first episode because I thought his story was compelling and haunting. Just think about it a 9-year-old boy with citrullinemia a rare genetic disease that caused him to be unable to digest protein. Christian had a strict diet and needed multiple medications daily to stay alive and the reality is that 1 to 2 days without his medication could be deadly. One thing I didn't touch on in the podcast was that the parents separated after a high school/college relationship. Theda says she thought she was married to the father of her two children but later found out there were issues with the validity of the ceremony. Christian was born in 1993 and his parents separated in 1997 so the relationship was over well before his disappearance. I'm hoping that someday the people responsible for Christian's disappearance are brought to justice so his family can finally put him to rest and his mother can have some degree of closure.
